Now what?

We've been pretty quiet around here lately.  Mostly because I've been spending all my time at the sewing machine working on the big mystery quilt.  It's been pretty intense!  I surface every once in a while to do a bit of laundry or vacuuming and have even occasionally cooked a meal.  :-)  The dogs are pretty bored too.  I owe them a considerable amount of attention.  I do remember to fill the bird feeders and check on the bluebird box.

I read that one should monitor the box from a distance only, starting 13 days after the eggs hatch.  So I think tomorrow will be my last peek.

And....feel the excitement with me.....THE QUILT IS DONE!  Today I sewed on 400 inches of binding.  So much fun (NOT), especially with black thread on black.

I ran the quilt through a rinse in the washer and after a short spin in the dryer we stretched it out on a sheet on the (well vacuumed!) living room floor.  I tried to smooth it out and square it up, and have the ceiling fan on high to finish the drying.  Tomorrow I sew on the sleeve and label and turn it in at guild meeting for entry into the North Carolina Quilt Symposium showPhew.  Talk about being down to the wire!

I perched on arms of furniture trying to get a decent photo.  I assure you, it is square!  I want get it hanging up so I can take one decent photo of it before it becomes a bed quilt.  And frankly, I think I also need a break from looking at it.

My goodness.  I almost don't know what to do with myself.  LOL
