We've been pretty quiet around here lately. Mostly because I've been spending all my time at the sewing machine working on the big mystery quilt. It's been pretty intense! I surface every once in a while to do a bit of laundry or vacuuming and have even occasionally cooked a meal. :-) The dogs are pretty bored too. I owe them a considerable amount of attention. I do remember to fill the bird feeders and check on the bluebird box.
I read that one should monitor the box from a distance only, starting 13 days after the eggs hatch. So I think tomorrow will be my last peek.
And....feel the excitement with me.....THE QUILT IS DONE! Today I sewed on 400 inches of binding. So much fun (NOT), especially with black thread on black.
I ran the quilt through a rinse in the washer and after a short spin in the dryer we stretched it out on a sheet on the (well vacuumed!) living room floor. I tried to smooth it out and square it up, and have the ceiling fan on high to finish the drying. Tomorrow I sew on the sleeve and label and turn it in at guild meeting for entry into the North Carolina Quilt Symposium show. Phew. Talk about being down to the wire!
I perched on arms of furniture trying to get a decent photo. I assure you, it is square! I want get it hanging up so I can take one decent photo of it before it becomes a bed quilt. And frankly, I think I also need a break from looking at it.
My goodness. I almost don't know what to do with myself. LOL
