Or is it up the road? Hmmmm......
Anyway, I finished part 3 of Old Tobacco Road very late this evening and spent the last little while sticking all the bits and bricks up on my design wall. Whew! What a job. The poor Tramp. I've been back and forth, up and down the step stool, and muttering to myself for hours. :-D
It was hard to line everything up since it's all on the diagonal. It was so crooked, when I got down to the bottom right corner the pieces were on the floor! I also couldn't figure out how to put the bottom row together since nothing lined up. After all that careful counting I had too many pieces left over! So I had to take the time to shift almost every piece up and over so I could see how to place the last pieces. It's still listing to the right (you shoulda seen it before! LOL) but at least now I've got it worked out and don't have any odd bits left over. I am short a few bricks and corners so I'll cut a few more. But not now! In the morning! :-) No rotary cutting at this hour!
Wow is it colorful. Whether it puts one in mind of a tobacco field is questionable but I like it very much. Lots of sewing and trimming left to be done. And then the borders. Oh my, oh my!

It is beautiful! I love all the red/brown colors. It must have been a pain to put all those little pieces up on the designwall, but I bet it'll be worth it in the end.
What a terrific road you are creating, I am no where near that stage yet - will post when I am, actually you would probably hear me whooping for joy from all the way over here .. LOL

It is a wonderful fall looking quilt! Keep going...it's great!
It looks great! I can't wait to see it finished with borders!
This is coming along great! Love the autumn colors!
Definitely worth all the stool stepping and muttering. Your Old Tobacco Road is beautiful. I had the same problem with the top and bottom of mine. I still don't think it is exactly right, but it is together and that is what counts.
