Another new family member

UPS arrived at our door today...with a new baby! Well ok...I confess...not a real baby, but I had an inexplicable urge to run out and put a stork on the front lawn and send announcements. (I think I'm spending waaaaay to much time by myself!)

I got out my scalpel scissors and freed the little tyke from his swaddling box. Apparently, I am now...a mini Mom! :-D (Oh-oh, even the dog groaned that time.)

The Tramp has soooo been wanting to adopt buy one of these. He finally found one for a good price and when it arrived I felt like super precious cargo had landed on our doorstep. :-) It's used, but The Tramp quickly tested it out and now it's a full fledged member of the family part of his stable of servers....until Apple comes up with something cooler of course. LOL

It sure is a lusty little boy...check out the size of that power brick! ;-)
(Somebody please be kind enough to let me know when I've gone completely around the bend!)

mini looks so small in The Tramp's big hands! For fun I took a photo of him sitting on top of "big brother" Xerox. (Ok, I think I'm finished now.)

I am told this little thing has the capacity to do all kinds of neat stuff and also run on much less electricity than the big servers. Fine with me!

Ok, back to sanity. Well sort of. The Tramp would be quick to comment on the obvious lack of sanity involved in cutting fabric up into little pieces and then sewing it all back together again. But we know it's a perfectly sane thing to do! Don't we!

I've been slaving over the additional 24 blocks for the Scrappy Trip Around the World and they are FINISHED. Wooooohooooo! With two extra even. (Math was never my strong suit.) It will be sewn together as it is on the wall. No more fussing with it!

It's so big I had to tape the top row to the wall above the design wall and the bottom row is dragging on the floor. I also can't back far enough away from it for a proper photo. I see adjusting the furniture and design wall arrangement in my near future. I have huge high ceilings and there's no reason why I can't have a tall design wall. I also have a long narrow room so it would make sense to put the design wall on the end wall. The Sailor Son and family will be here this weekend. So maybe the next weekend I can sucker ask The Tramp into helping me do that. ;-)

The quilt looks awfully green to me. I've ordered a cool red and purple fabric for the borders so we'll see.

Congratulations on another new member of the family :-D
LOL!
Your quilt is looking fantastic! I'm looking forward to seeing it with the borders!
Do you make strips to sew the blocks? Or individual squares (yikes!).
Either way, it is gorgeous!

Um... I'm afraid I don't know what a Mini is... Is that a computer? A copy machine? A DVD player? I'm very un-computer...

Love your quilt though! And I do know a lot about quilts!

Love the quilt! I just pulled my around the world out to finish putting on the border. These puppies are heavy!

Your post made me remember a Saturday I spent with my nephew at the MIT garage sale! Bits and pieces of computer and electrical "stuff" everywhere. He was in heaven! I felt like I had entered an alternate universe!
